Moisture Control

For those of you with a crawl space under your home, moisture control is of extreme importance. The damage caused by extreme moisture is as costly as that caused by termites. The moisture in your crawl space not only encourages termites and other insects to harbor, but it also makes the wood under your home the ideal environment for fungus that can destroy your floor joists the wood in your crawl space that gives your home its structural soundness.

Servall can solve your moisture problems in several different ways; a combination of those listed below will ensure that your moisture problems are taken care of.

tvlogo.gif - 1236 Bytes Temp Vents - We install automatic foundation ventilators that not only open and close automatically with temperature changes, but also add beauty and value to your home. Foundation ventilators that are not opened in the warm months do not allow moisture to vent properly, and ventilators that are not closed in the cooler months allow costly heat to escape through them. The automatic foundation ventilators are double screened (screened on both the front and the back of the ventilator) to ensure that animals cannot enter your crawl space. The ventilators we install are guaranteed to operate properly for as long as you own your home.

Moisture Barrier - applying a 6 mil plastic barrier to the ground below the crawl space will help reduce moisture under a house. This with a combination of a proper ventilation system will assist with potential problems in a crawl space.

Floor Joist Treatments - When there is moisture under a home, there will grow mold and fungus that needs to be treated before it destroys the foundation and structural integrity of your home. We do treatments that will both prevent the fungus that causes wood rot and stops further destruction from an already established infestation.
